Abstract

This paper is the analysis of Structural Adjustment Programme (SAP) which was adopted by many African countries in the 1980s. SAP was formulated by the Bretton Woods institutions with the aim that it would be the solution to the ailing economy of (Africa) Third World States. The aim of this work is to ascertain to what extent SAP achieved the desired goal of solving the problems of African economy, with particular interest to its implementations and impacts on the economies of states in the continent. This work will broadly discuss these headings; introduction, implementation and impacts of SAP. We shall also have conclusion and recommendation.
