Abstract

The study set to investigate the Influence of personality characteristics on entrepreneurial success among entrepreneurs in Ikeja, Lagos. The study was a survey in which Ex post facto design was adopted for the study. Questionnaire format was used for data collection in the study Findings revealed clearly that personality characteristic of extraversion significantly influenced perceived entrepreneurial success (t (198)= 6.78, p<0.05 ); personality characteristic of emotional stability significantly influenced perceived entrepreneurial success.( t (198) = 7.94, p<.05 ); personality characteristic of openness significantly influenced perceived entrepreneurial success (t (198) = 6.84, p< .05} ), personality characteristics of conscientiousness significantly influenced perceived
entrepreneurial success (t (198) = 8.62, p< .05 ). Further, the finding revealed that only the personality characteristics of agreeableness significantly influenced perceived entrepreneurial success (t (198) = 10.64, p< .05 ) The study concluded therefore that personality characteristics played significant influenced on entrepreneurship success.
