Abstract

The idea of community development embark by the government is to create the necessary health and
conducive environment for sustainable growth and development of the Nigerian societies. This study
assess the impact of borehole water and evaluates the role and challenges of Nigerian Government in
community development. The study applied a secondary method using text books, journals and other
related article to this study. The find lot of neglects,
underdeveloped, and poverty remain pervasive.. The study recommends that the scope of community
development should be highlighted to the people while government agencies and individual should be
encouraged in the developmental exercise in Nigeria communities. Dedication by community leaders and
proper funding should be given priority. The paper further recommend that government and people are
to act on the same developmental platform toward adequate provision and sustainability of borehole
water and other infrastructures for greater achievement of social- conomic well being of the people
