NIGERIA'S ECONOMIC CRISIS AND EXTERNAL RELATIONS: A DISCOURSE

The paper discusses that the conduct of Nigeria's external relations has always been shaped by the structure of the domestic economy as well as development in the international economic environment. The paper harmonizing both liberal and underdevelopment approaches found out that Nigeria's economic crisis stemmed from both the internal contradiction in the domestic policies and its environment as well as the incorporation of the country in to the international capitalist system. Using qualitative method through which secondary data was sieved, the paper also found out that, the process of handling and managing economic crisis will, generally determined the Nigeria's image and position as a positive stakeholder at the international arena.
