A Preliminary Analysis of the Effectiveness of Data in Empirical Research

Abstract

This study X-rays a preliminary investigation of the effectiveness of research data aimed at reducing or eliminating error possibilities bedevilling researchers. The methodology employs survey design through questionnaire administration to elicit responses from a sample of 314 respondents that could inform decisions from the population. Findings revealed that preliminary data screening is purposely to present precise and dependable data. As far as possible, avoid statistical errors, and find a way to deal with everyday research challenges like population, sampling, response rate, data screening and cleansing i.e. missing values, outliers, non-response bias, common method variance, descriptive statistics, data altering, factor analysis, multicollinearity, correlation test, data mining, or developing graphical representation. It is recommended that researchers should as a matter of necessity place pre-test research investigation a priori and centerto every research.
