Abstract

The study adopts secondary data to examine the effects of corruption, fraud on public procurement in Nigeria. The study reveals that public procurement is susceptible to corruption and fraud because of colossal sums of resources. The study further established that corruption and fraud in procurement has impeded national growth and development. Therefore study recommends for an effective oversight functions of legislative arm of government, uncompromising judiciary and capacity building of procurement officials to enhance professionalism as ways of checkmating corruption.
