Abstract

The paper examines the effect of cross border crime on National Security of Nigeria. The
paper adopted qualitative method using primary and secondary sources. The sample size
for the paper was use. The descriptive transcript analysis for primary data and secondary
data was also utilized. The findings revealed that arm proliferation and on National
security in Nigeria was affecting National security because guns are manufactured and
distributed to serve the various needs of different groups of people. The paper
concluded that there is security trained by the Nigerian government to tackle these crimes
at the border, the problem associated with poverty and corruption affects their lives. The
study recommended that Nigeria governments should organize a joint border patrol to
prevent cross-border trafficking of arms, human, drugs and illegal migration Affecting
National security of Nigeria.
