HUMAN RESOURCE TRAINING AND EMPLOYEE'S PRODUCTIVITY IN NIGERIA PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

Any establishment which seeks to succeed in the present day competitive operation must
invest in the training of its workforce. The investment is to improve the performance and
wellbeing of workers toward better service delivery. This paper examines the prospect
and challenges of human resource training in Nigeria public institutions. The study relies
on secondary data such as books, journals, articles and other publications to source for
information. The study recognized and confirmed the employees' belief on the
importance and positive prospect of human resource training in strengthening their skills
and performance as well as their commitment to the productivity and success of the
establishment However, human capacity building is associated with series of challenges
such as funding, training facilities etc. The paper therefore recommend for improvement
in funding human resource training; adequate training facilities should be provided and
staff promotion should be done promptly after returning from study
