IMPACT OF CORRUPTION ON ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN CHANCHAGA LOCAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGER STATE

Abstract

The paper examines impact of corruption on organizational development in chanchaga local government of Niger State. The paper articulated institutional theory propounded by scott (2008) as a framework for this study. A documentary approach was adopted by the researches through the study of relevant literature relating to the study of impact of corruption on organizational development. Thus, corruption is pervasive issue that undermines organizational development and posses significant challenges to social, economic and institutional progress. Hence, this study looked at corruption as trend that hinders organizational development. The paper concluded that corruption impairs organizational development and recommends the followings as instrument for reducing corruption in our organization; establish robust policies and regulatory frameworks to ensure transparency and accountability in organizational operations., courage leaders to model integrity and ethical behavior, fostering a culture of accountability within the organization. automate critical processes such as procurement, financial management, and reporting to reduce human interference and opportunities for corruption,. create safe and anonymous channels for employees and stakeholders to report corrupt practices without fear of retaliation, develop and enforce clear codes of conduct that define acceptable behavior and consequences for violations.
