INNOVATIVE CULTURE AND PERFORMANCE OF ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS IN YOBE STATE

Abstract

This is a correlational research designed to ascertain the relationship between an aspect
of organizational culture and performance of academic institutions in Yobe State. The
study enables us to re-evaluate academic institutions as unique managerial entities
requiring specialized management skills for better performance. The study seeks to know
the type of relationship (positive or negative) that exists between innovative culture and
internal fund generations of seven selected tertiary institutions in Yobe State. The outcome
of the study indicates a positive relationship between 60% of aspects of innovative
culture and internal fund generations. It is therefore recommended that attention needs to
be paid to key aspects of innovative culture to foster efciency and effectiveness in
tertiary institutions.
