Factors Affecting Community Participation in Community Development Programmes in Niger State, Nigeria

Abstract

Community participation can mean collective activity entered into by the members of a group in order to effect changes or make improvement about an issue or outcome in a community. This paper discuss the concept of community development and the approaches to community development. The paper also discuss the government attitude towards community development programmes in Niger State and participation community development process, the advantages of community participation programmes in community development. This paper also discussed the rural and urban participation in community development programmes with the involvement of community leaders attitude towards community development programmes in Niger State.
